My Tantric Valentine!

Making love is making a connection!  You don’t have to have romance or sex to make love!  The sun had been shining off an on again this past month and we are experiencing great connection with the divine as she teases us with warmth.   I hope that you are enjoying some time out in nature and witnessing as Mother Earth begins to try on sexy and colorful new clothes. Watching the birds in my back yard or just eating oranges when the tree drops them is such a magical treat and a precious gift from the loving earth. Have you noticed how your body feels more alive when you eat directly from the tree? It’s almost like you can feel the life of the tree within you. From the tree roots, I can feel the whole earth inside of me and the sunshine reminds me that the universe is supporting our whole existence. It is the same kind of unity I feel when making love.

From the tree roots, I can feel the whole earth inside of me and the sunshine reminds me that the universe is supporting our whole existence. It is this kind of  enjoyment of my alone time, that I am discovering during this time of healing and transition. Tuning into the ‘energy of springtime’ is bringing me deeper connection with the source and my soul. This is a great time for all of us to become more aware of our bodies in connection with the emerging energies of nature.

This Valentine’s day is all about a heart filled with grateful feelings for all of you.  All of the love letters, sweet gifts, and beautiful gestures of kindness and sweet love… my heart is full! Thank you for the waves of healing sent by so many of you. All of this support is felt on every level. I have gone from being in wheel chair, to walking on crutches, and now I am walking on my own! Limited still and wobbling, with a cast one foot but I am healing well and fast!  I continue to practice cultivating my self love to the highest I ever have, and allowing myself to receive more love then ever.

Have you ever practiced Qigong? This is a precious practice that raises so much energy and understanding. I am grateful to Adam Atman (of the Los Gatos Acupuncture and Qigong Center) for all his teachings and healing. He is absolutely amazing!  If you have a practice of energy awareness – like this – I highly recommend that you take some time outdoors to allow your batteries to recharge. This would be a great Valentine’s Day gift to yourself and your relations. I am finding that this practice is helping me to be more focused in my writing and creative awareness as I continue working on my book.  It is finally starting to take shape! I have been getting a lot of messages about eating delicious, healthy foods and to only put into my body what is good for it. I notice that as I honor my bodies needs and limitations – this too is part of self love. The reality is that we human beings can survive eating pretty much anything since we are such evolved species. But it begs the question, “Am I eating to thrive?” I encourage you to ask this question of yourself too!  Looking good does not mean health! Do you have enough energy to do all the things you want to do? Do you wake up in the morning feeling  inspired ready to go with your day? I know first had that the foods we put in our bodies directly impact how we feel – on all levels!

For that matter, so does breath, movement, sound, and even the way that you handle the energy of  the people around you.  Being extra sensitive people, (as I assume you are if you are reading this)  we have to be extra careful of who is around us. Consider setting an intention that only beings of light and the energy of love are allowed to enter your body or your space.  This can be challenging, and clearly some situations we can not avoid, but as long as you hold your intention that will filter a lot of the negativity coming towards you from outside. The most important thing is that we become more aware of our thoughts and hold a strong intention to be a conduit of love.
Here is one of my favorite quotes:
“Every day, think as you wake up:  Today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it.  I am going to use all of my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings.  I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.” ~Dalai Lama Blessings, Kika
